is a private and thus non-commercial civil aviation website. It serves as the platform for my aviation images. Furthermore I want to give visitors aviation enthusiasts or not an informative, entertaining and diverse insight into the world of civil aviation. This is the reason why I put up the aircraft data section and the impressions gallery as well. It all started out in 2000 as a diverse mix of articles on airplanes, photography and flight simulation. Since 2003, this page is online as In the last 12 months (dated May 2005) has been visited over 15,000 times. A huge thanks for this outstanding result!

My name is Lukas Kirchner and I was born in Bremen on June 14th 1985. Since 2005, I have been studying Communication Sciences and Business Administration at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich. Years after moving to Bavaria, I still don't know how to ski and am still a die-hard fan of Werder Bremen. Yet I'll have a Bavarian beer over the green-bottled one from Bremen any day. I am still into photography quite a bit and have been shooting in many different fields. To give a better representation of my portfolio, I launched in 2007. Go have a look!

my gear

Since fall 2004 I have been using a Canon EOS 20D, a digital single lens reflex camera. For lenses I operate with a Canon EF 17-40mm f4 L for close-ups, for everything further away like planes I have been working with a Canon EF 70-200 f4 L lens, mostly with a 1.4x extender, also by Canon, since March 2005.
My second camera is a Sony Cybershot DSC-P2. As its spotting abilities are rather limited, that one has become my snapshot camera now.
