In over 40 years of service, the Tu-134 has earned a lot of respect as a workhorse. It still makes up – also due to the lack of successors – an enormous part of airline fleets in GUS states.
The TU-134 is based on the Tu-124, yet the T-shaped tail and the engine location in the back erase most similarities. However, a visible trait stays the glass nose, which hosts the navigator in the lower part.
A stretched Tu-134A is in service since 1970. Aside from more powerful Soloviev D-30-2 engines, this version also features an APU in the back. Depending on the model, the Tu-134 fits 72 to 96 passengers.
